Association Membership Requirements
Although all OREIA-affiliated associations are independently operated, OREIA does require certain standards be met by its member associations. As a state-wide group dedicated to unifying, educating, and protecting the legal rights of real estate entrepreneurs, these requirements are meant to assure that member groups are viable, and hold to the basic vision and mission of OREIA.
The basic requirements for Association membership are that your group:
- Serve real estate entrepreneurs, landlords, and/or investors in the State of Ohio
- Have a minimum of 10 dues-paying members
- Provide regular educational offerings and informative meetings to its local Investors/association members.
- Provide OREIA with a copy of its Constitution, By-laws, or other Governing Document
- Provide OREIA with a list of names, mailing addresses, and email addresses of its members upon joining and annually for the purpose of promotion the annual OREIA convention and providing benefits available to association members
- Cooperate in a timely manner with OREIA in the promoting of the annual convention.
- Pay dues in accordance to OREIA Constitution and By-laws. Dues are currently $25 per membership (if your association has "dual memberships" where family members may join together, the 2 people in that dual membership represent a single member for the purpose of calculating OREIA dues)
- Provide the Executive Secretary and keep current a list of their trustees and OREIA Board members
- Adhere to the provisions in the OREIA By-laws (read them here)
- Attend, support and promote the activities of OREIA, including assuring that representatives from the association or leadership are present at live and online trainings and the annual convention
